What to know about Boostpal before you dash your money to them

In circulation these days are several "make money online" schemes and I keep wondering if these schemes are genuine or fraudulent. I'll review one of these schemes called "Boostpal.co.uk" gaining popularity in Kenya and Ghana. This post is not going to be conclusive as to whether Boostpal is genuine or not. I'm only going point out my findings having interacted with the website in a few days.

What is boostpal?

"Boostpal Is a Pay Per Impression site. Hence advertisers will pay based on the number of impressions they get on their ads. And you are paid based on the number of video impressions you make per day". Says their website.

Basically, what boostpal promises is that you're paid for each video you watch and the videos are from advertisers who pay for their ads. As a beginner, you can only watch two videos per day and you have 13 days to upgrade to any paid account. If you fail to upgrade within this 13 day period,  your account will be deactivated. If advertisers pay for their ads, why should customers pay to continue watching ads? Sorry, I'm just thinking aloud.

How can I advertise on Boostpal?

Interestingly, there is no information on boostpal's website on how to advertise on their website. So how do advertisers reach them?

Can you make some cash for the 13 days?

You can make some virtual money for the free 13 days. You're paid GH¢1.93 per video and you can watch 2 videos per day. This means you can make GH¢3.86 per day and for the 13 days, you'll make a total of GH¢50.18 but there is a minimum amount you can withdraw, GH¢72.30. Is this a smart way to get people upgrade at all cost???

Is there a referral program?

Yes! As a free member you can refer up to 50 people.

Can one earn from the referrals?

You're promised GH¢0.48 for each video watched by any of your downlines. Assuming you have referred 50 people and each of them watch 2 videos daily, you can make GH¢48 daily. Mouth watering! Isn't it?

Does that mean I can meet the minimum amount payable within the 13 free days using the referral program?

A BIG NO! You can refer alright and see all your downlines in your account but BoostPal always says your downlines have NEVER watched any video even if they actually did and have earned some "virtual money" in their respective accounts. Oops! Absolute no way to withdraw your funds within the 13 free days!

How much does it take to upgrade?

There are four paid membership levels namely Premium Beginner, Premium Expert, Premium Pro and Premium Plus each with its limitations on the number of videos you can watch daily. To upgrade, It costs GH¢144.60, GH¢347.04, GH¢771.20, GH¢1349.60 respectively. This is renewable bi-annually!

Can I you top up what you've made in 13 days to upgrade?

Oops No way. Money you make from watching videos go into a separate account and there's another account that is used to upgrade. Smart! Isn't it? So even if you are able to make the maximum 50 cedis in 13 days, you CANNOT add 94 cedis to upgrade to Premium Beginner.

Should I upgrade?

Before you give them the benefit of the doubt and dash your money to them, consider the following facts and inconsistencies.
  1. Boostpal claim they started their operations in Europe 3 years ago. See screenshot from their website below.
However, a whois check on their domain reveals that the domain "boostpal.co.uk" was registered on April 04, 2018 and will expire on April 04, 2019. Use any whois tool available online and verify yourself. I used who.is
    • An online business that has been operating in Europe for 3 years had its domain registered just a few months ago?
    • On what domain name were they operating?
    • As for just 1 year domain registration, I wouldn't want to comment further.
    • You cannot get the registrant's name and contact information because they have hidden it. Why should a business that takes people's money hide their identity?
  2. Let's take a look at when Bootspal created its facebook page. Could they really be operating 3 years ago considering the fact that their business model is solely online based? Have they operated in any European country before? Find out for yourself from their page. For me I don't think so.
  3. How about what people are saying about boostpal. On twitter, it seems only Kenyans are talking about bootspal. That makes sense to me because they started their operations there before moving to Ghana. How come nobody from anywhere else is talking about boostpal on social media? Search with the hashtag #boostpal on twitter to find out more yourself. Here are some of the tweets.
  4. Boostpal list Paypal as one of the means of payment but there isn't any way you could pay with paypal. You know people trust paypal right? They have country representatives through which you can make payments in addition to PerfectMoney, Payeer, MTN Mobile Mobile etc.. Considering the number of mobile money payment APIs in Ghana, why wouldn't any serious business process payments automatically? Are they using the country reps as a means of getting public trust? Are they putting them at the fore front to hide their identity? Ooh I just registered as a Rep. I don't know the owners. These are just some of my thoughts anyway.
  5. Again on payment, Boostpal's bank details are in Germany with the account name Qafeo Capital. Are there no banks in the UK where they are based? My checks on the bank reveals that the said bank is tailored towards e-commerce. It is possible for one to create accounts remotely. All you need to provide is your business registration documents. How possible is to trace the owners of this account created remotely???
This post is lengthening more than I thought of. Dig around their website for more information and insights yourself. Don't forget to checkout the various country reps. There's something funny there. Come back and comment if you find it. I think most of the country reps think alike! Is there another country elsewhere using +233?

As I said from the beginning, I won't conclude whether boostpal is genuine or not but personally, I won't give my money to them especially from what our Kenyan brothers and sisters are saying. The decision is yours as to whether to get rich quick with boostpal or not. Don't forget publiclikes looked genuine but it turned out to be fraudulent! If you didn't hear about publiclikes, do some google search on it.

I hope this post helps someone. Please leave comments below especially on your experience with boostpal.

Cheers!

  2. This is a wake-up call to the NCA, security agencies and the general public. This must be nipped in the bud before unsuspecting individuals fall victim. Lemme see what I can also do to save a neighbour. Kudos Elikem
